Permanent Magnet DC Motor Sliding Mode Control System
Authors
Abstract:
In this paper a sliding mode controller (SMC) is designed for a permanent magnet direct current (PMDC) motor to enhance the motor performance in the presence of unwanted uncertainties. Both the electrical and mechanical signals are used as the inputs to the SMC. The complete motor control system is simulated on a personal computer with different design parameters and desirable system performance is obtained. The experimental implementation of the motor control system by a floating point DSP is also presented. The test results confirm the simulation results and validate the proposed motor control system for high performance applications.

Sliding-mode Control for Linear Permanent-magnet Motor Position Tracking
Based on Utkin’s research work regarding speed control of rotary motors, a position tracking algorithm for linear permanent magnet synchronous motors (LPMSM) is designed making use of multi-variable sliding-mode control and asymptotic observers. It is applicable to LPMSM’s with either interior or surfacemounted magnets, no matter whether the armature is stationary or movable. Furthermore, the c...

In this paper a systematic fuzzy sliding mode controller is presented for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) sensorless drives. The fuzzy sliding mode controller is designed based on input–output feedback linearization control technique. The extended Kalman filter is used to estimate the speed, position and load torque. The PMSM is fed from indirect power electronics converter. This indi...

In this paper, robust adaptive fuzzy sliding mode control is designed to control the Permanent Magnet (PM) stepper motor in the presence of model uncertainties and disturbances. In doing so, the nonlinear model is converted to canonical form, then, for designing the controller, the robust sliding mode control is designed to decrease the effects of uncertainties and disturbances. A class of fuzz...

Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor because of high energy storage capability is very important in electrical drive industry. Speed control of this motor suffers from parameter variations such as variable inductance. In this paper, The Integral-Terminal Sliding Mode Control (ITSMC) method is used to control the speed (torque) along with d-axis current control. This method is like to classic slid...

The principal aim of this paper is a study and improves of sensorless vector control (VC) of a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). We interested mainly of the Luemberger observer. This method is based on a representation of the state of the dynamic model of the motor. In order to optimize the performance of the drive system, the genetic algorithm is proposed as an intelligent technique a...
